You will learn some steadfast techniques that will help you to dodge the distractions that may prevent you from writing. You will continue to work on your novel, safe in the knowledge that it remains your priority.

Week 5: Setting and Voice

Module five of this online writing course will into the complexities of settings.

You will discover that your setting isn’t just a backdrop to the plot, it’s actually a vital aspect to your novel. We will consider this in detail as you also focus on the way in which your narrative voice is developing.

Week 6: The Final Sprint to Editing

In your final week, you will be sprinting toward the end of your first draft – well done!

However, the work will not be over yet. You will develop your final synopsis, as well your novel outline (this is the ‘pitch’ you will present to agents/publishers). You will also begin to think about the process of editing.
