The Sheila Malady Short Story Competition 2020 is open until March 25, 2020.
Submit stories up to 2,000 words. The theme is a quote from one of Shakespeare’s history plays; “Uneasy is the head that wears the crown”.
First prize includes $300 cash, a handcrafted timber quill, and 2 tickets to a performance of the community play.
There’s also a local prize for a writer residing in Gippsland. The prize includes a Collins Book voucher plus 2 tickets to a performance of the community play. Finally, there’s a prize for a young writer under the age of 18. The winner will receive a Collins Book voucher.
Entry: $5 per story.
