The Calibre Essay Prize is open for entries.
Submission Guidelines
- Open to all essayists.
- Must be written in English.
- Between 2,000 and 5,000 words on any subject.
- Open theme: personal or political, literary or speculative, traditional or experimental.
Judges: André Dao, Kate Fullagar, and Diane Stubbings.
Entry fee: Current ABR subscribers: $20. Standard/non-subscribers: $30
Prizes: Total prize money is $10,000.
Deadline: 3 February 2026, 11:59 pm AEST
