The Best of Times Short Story Competition is open for entries.
Submission Guidelines
- Humorous short stories (any theme) up to 2500 words.
- You may enter as many times as you like.
- Each story must be in English and be your own original work (written without any assistance from AI).
- Stories that have won prizes or certificates in previous Best of Times competitions are ineligible for further prizes or certificates.
Judges: C. A. Broadribb
Entry fee: $12 per story
Prizes:
- First prize: 60% of total entry fees received.
- Second prize: 15% of total entry fees received.
- Third prize: 5% of total entry fees received.
- There will also be certificates for highly commended and commended stories.
Deadline: Closes 31 Oct 2026. Results will be announced on the website by December 2026.
