The E M Fletcher Writing Competition 2026 is open for entries.
Submission Guidelines
- Short story of 1500 – 2000 words on a family history or genealogy theme
- The Competition is open to individuals 18 years of age and over
- The Competition is open to individuals currently living in Australia or New Zealand
Judges: Terry Fewtrell, Barbara Broad and Margaret Clough
Entry fee: The entry fee is $20.00 for Family History ACT members and $35.00 for non-members.
Prizes:
- AU$1,000 first prize – the E.M. Fletcher Award;
- AU$500 runner-up prize: and
- AU$100 the Rosemary McKenzie Award (a prize for Family History ACT members)
