The Royal Geographical Society of Queensland is hosting a short story contest.
Submission Guidelines
- Open to all writers, nationally and internationally, at any stage of their writing career.
- Short fiction up to 500 words.
- The theme is open to interpretation. Must be about the significance of the environment in human life.
- The story must be set in Queensland.
Judges:
- 1st round judged by RGSQ, will result in a long list.
- 2nd round: the long list will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by RGSQ and result in a shortlist.
- A panel of judges appointed by RGSQ will judge the shortlist. This panel will not consist of any judges from the 1st or 2nd rounds.
Entry fee: $10
Prizes:
- First Place – $300 and publication in the RGSQ Bulletin and on the RGSQ website
- Second Place – $150
- Third Place – 1 year membership to the Queensland Writers Centre
