6th edition of the International Literary Prize “Canne al Vento” (“Reeds in the Wind”), promoted by the Municipality of Galtellì, Sardinia (Italy) in collaboration with The Jane Austen Club of Sardinia, is officially open.
Submission Guidelines
- Section A: Short stories in Italian and English
- Section B: Short stories in the Sardinian language
- Themes:
- Religiosity as an inner and universal dimension;
- Sense of belonging and cultural identity;
- The depiction of Sardinia’s landscape and human environment during Deledda’s time.
- The analysis of social dynamics and family relationships, with special attention to class structure and roles.
- Stories must be between 5,000 and 7,000 characters, including spaces (excluding the title).
- Open to international writers, 18+
Judges: The Jury is composed of 4 members, including the President appointed by the Municipality of Galtellì.
Prizes:
- The winners will receive EUR 500.
- All finalists will have their stories published and will be hosted and reimbursed for travel expenses to attend the award ceremony in Galtellì.
Deadline: July 20, 2025. Finalist stories will be announced on August 25, 2025.
