The 2026 Penguin Literary Prize is open for entries.
Submission Guidelines
- Open to AU residents 18+
- Employees (and their immediate families) of Penguin Random House Australia are
not eligible to enter. - Open to original works of completed fiction: 100,000 words.
- Write a synopsis of the work of no more than 300 words.
- Include a pitch.
Judges: A panel of judges appointed by Penguin Random House Australia in early 2026
Entry fee: Free to enter – complete the form.
Prizes: A$20,000.
Deadline: Monday 15 December 2025 at 11.59 pm AEDT
